Centre de Recherche et d’Enseignement de Géosciences de l’Environnement

FR

The CEREGE (Centre Européen de Recherche et d'Enseignement des Géosciences de l'Environnement) gathers approximately 130 permanent staff (45 Lecturers, 40 Researchers and 45 Engineers, Technicians or Administrative), 110 non-permanent staff, including 60 Ph-D students. It is a joint research unit including the University of Aix-Marseille (AMU), the CNRS, the IRD (UMR 161), and the Collège de France. The INRA is a partner under contract. The CEREGE is located on two sites, one in Aix-en-Provence and one in Marseille.

It  is part of the OSU-Institut Pytheas, the Observatory of the Universe Sciences, and it participates to the research foundation ECCOREV (CNRS-INEE). It is involved in two programs of excellence, an EQUIPEX with the ASTER-CEREGE and EQUIPEX NANO-ID projects, and a LABEX with the OTMed and SERENADE projects.

Through its theoretical, methodological and technological approaches, the CEREGE is a multidisciplinary laboratory covering a large panel of research topics such as :

  • planetology and internal Earth
  • geodynamic and terrestrial morphodynamic - geoarcheology
  • dynamic of climate and climatic cycles
  • environmental variability and impact on ecosystems
  • system and sedimentary reservoirs
  • dynamic of hydrosystems and their tracing
  • soils properties and processes
